As the use of technology, namely the internet, is becoming more widespread, affordable, and easily accessible, it is being increasingly used as a means of communication for ALIVE. ALIVE has many affiliates across the continent of Africa, several of which are active online. You can find mission application forms, conference information, news, mission stories, and much more at their respective sites! Take a look below to see what’s happening!

The apostle Paul wrote, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). He also wrote that we should “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15).
Not just read. Not just carry around at church. STUDY.
I believe he used the word study for a reason in the same way I believe his quantitative all before scripture was purposeful. Reading can be done as a sloppy exercise. It can be half-hearted and merely requires one to identify each word in succession.
Is reading and studying the same?
Studying requires active digging. It requires that the student intentionally attempts to understand the meaning and significance of the material, whether it be the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, or even a past experience.
As we minister as missionaries, we will feel the need to study at a deeper level. There are several reasons for this:
- We feel our need of Christ as we see our insufficiency
- Questions are asked that require deep study
- New situations bring about the need for divine guidance
- We are aroused to the holy nature of mission work and are drawn to understand the spiritual realm more
- We want to teach actual Bible truth
We are studying ALIVE. Studying the Bible is a core principle in this missionary movement. ALIVE-Kenya has Bible study tools available at alivekenya.org. Check them out!
